Call for Abstract
SubmissionsCyberM8 in partnership with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), and Southern African Journal for Security (SAJS) invites researchers, academics, industry professionals, and students to submit abstracts for the Second Annual Cybersecurity Indaba, scheduled for October 29, 2025, at The Innovation Hub in Pretoria. Under the theme “Next-Gen Cybersecurity: Innovating for Tomorrow’s Challenges”, the Indaba seeks to explore cutting-edge research and developments in cybersecurity that enhance protection and resilience in our digital world.

- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Cybersecurity: AI/ML for threat detection, ethical considerations.
- Blockchain Technology and Cybersecurity: Secure transactions, vulnerabilities in blockchain systems.
- Cybersecurity Education and Workforce Development: Educational approaches, bridging the skills gap.
- Internet of Things (IoT) and Cybersecurity: Security challenges in IoT, security protocols.
- Data Privacy and Protection: Compliance with regulations, data privacy techniques.
- Human Factors and Social Engineering: Psychological aspects of cybersecurity, resilience against attacks.
Submission
Guidelines- Abstract Length: Up to 500 words in English.
- Format: State the research purpose, methodology, results, and implications.
- Keywords: Include up to five keywords.
- Submission: Via the official Indaba submission portal on the event website.
- Originality: Submissions must be original and not previously published.
- Author Details: Include full contact details and institutional affiliations.
Review
Committee- Review committee consist of seasoned industry leaders and experts from government, business and academia.
- Submissions will be peer-reviewed based on originality, relevance, scientific content, and clarity.
- Notification of acceptance will be sent by 29 August 2025.

Presentation and
Publications Opportunities- Accepted submissions will be presented in oral or poster sessions.
- Specifics on presentation guidelines and session timings will be provided with acceptance notifications.
- Selected abstracts will be invited for publication in conference proceedings or a special journal issue/book of abstracts. Please note that if your abstract is selected and you wish to present at the conference, physical attendance and payment of the registration fee are mandatory.
